While 15GB of hard drive space may seem excessive, it’s a given Microsoft operating systems are bloated with not only unneccessary code but also sloppy code. So, short of major recoding (which could take a year or longer), I doubt they’ll be able to further streamline it to any significant degree.

There are lots of home users who want to upgrade their PCs and will do so before Vista’s release. The sad part is, sooner or later, they will have to spend more money to upgrade from XP to Vista. Once Vista hits the street, XP support will be dead in two years.

Bottom Line: Release Vista now!
