		<description><![CDATA[My research showed that he certainly has been a target, but not in the mainstream media.  He did, however, write the books specifically to take on the overt Christian connotations of the Narnia series, apparently.  He went out to put down Christianity and yet it&#039;s Rowling who seems to get the most stick in the media, I find that somewhat funny.  Which is why the theory that these people only want attention themselves holds so much water.]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[When I saw Pullman speak at Hay this year, it sounds like he did get a bit of a kicking at some point. The conflict with the church was raised, especially as Pullman is an ex-teacher, and discussed during his slot. I think it just wasn&#039;t as well publicised.]]></description>
